The Land Titles Office examines and registers a variety of documents including transfers of ownership, mortgages, leases, easements, caveats, powers of attorney, writs of execution, mechanics' liens, plans of survey and condominium documents and plans.
Corporate Registries is responsible for the incorporation of businesses, societies and co-operative associations; the registration of companies incorporated in other jurisdictions but carrying on business in the Northwest Territories; and the registration of partnerships, sole proprietorships and certain business names.
The Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act gives individuals a legal right to request access to information held by Northwest Territories public bodies.
The Court Registry receives, issues and/or files documents and fees, enters and records all judgements pronounced and provides administrative support to the judiciary. The Court Registry also issues, files and retains original divorce certificates.
Abstracts: client should be directed to attend the issuing office near their location or email firstname.lastname@example.org to request their drivers abstract, if they are an existing client that has signed up for online services they can also log in and purchase their abstract using online services. Note: they will not be able to access online services if they already transferred out to another jurisdiction.
Accident Reports: client is required to attend an issuing office near their location and fill out a request form and process payment and they will receive the accident report by method of request.
