Provides support for food processing plant personnel food safety training, processing facility HACCP plan development, food safety programs pertaining to commercial wildlife harvest and health risk assessments related to contaminated animals to NWT agricultural producers, food harvesters, food processors and business managers.
Supports the development of the NWT agriculture industry and helps agricultural producers, agri-food processors, harvesters and agri-business managers obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to increase production and become more competitive in the marketplace.
Promotes international markets for Northwest Territories fish products to increase trade and returns to both fishers and the Great Slave Lake fishery. Support is provided through the Fishermen's Federation in Hay River - the representative body for the Great Slave Lake commercial fishing industry.

Offers a core set of services including business loans and loan guarantees, counseling and assistance for entrepreneurs beginning or expanding a business, wage subsidies for those who are unemployed and want to start a new business and access to Canada Business NWT Internet sites and business information services.
