Provides funding for programs and supports to help increase literacy levels of all NWT residents. Programs include: family literacy, community literacy projects, workplace education, learning supports for persons with disabilities.
Provides services to prepare NWT residents for work and learning and to make informed career choices. Services include: career counselling, career assessment tools, labour market information, career related workshops, career planning resource libraries.
The Employment Standards Office provides information and education on the rights of employees and the responsibilities of employers under the Employment Standards Act.
Administers the NWT Apprenticeship and Occupation Certification Program and supports the development, maintenance and delivery of designated trade and occupation training and certification programs.
MACA encourages and supports volunteers and the voluntary sector in their efforts to help build effective and sustainable communities by assisting with training that supports community based strategies proposed by voluntary organizations.
