The Boilers and Pressure Vessels Act and Regulations requires every boiler and/or pressure vessel installed for use in the Northwest Territories be registered and have an operating certificate.
Note: Staff travel to communities where no resident staff exist.
After receiving a permit to install a boiler or pressure vessel, and once installation is complete, an Inspector should be contacted to set up an inspection for the work performed. When the boiler or pressure vessel work passes inspection, the installation will be registered and an operating certificate will be issued.
Permits are available from the Yellowknife, Inuvik and Hay River offices. Inspections are performed in all NWT Communities.
